Listed below are several options for appliance recycling:
- There is no need to throw away an old appliance. Instead of the added expense of buying new, you can repair your existing appliance to its former condition. There are many companies in the District area that specialize in repairing appliances.
- If you do not what to have your appliance repaired, try recycling it. Unusable appliances may contain recyclable materials such as copper wiring, lead and other scrap metals. Check with scrap metal buyers about selling these items to be recycled.
- If neither repairing nor recycling your old appliance is an option for you, try donating your old appliance to a non-profit, charitable or church organization for reuse.
- The Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne
Joint Solid Waste Management District also
holds an annual Household Appliance Collection
every year in the Spring that provides residents
the opportunity to recycle their old appliances
either through a free drop off or a curbside
pickup for a fee.
