Our mission is to assure safe and sanitary disposal of solid waste for district residents and to reduce reusable or renewable wastes from entering landfills within the District. This will be accomplished through the development of residential and industrial programs that educate, promote, provide, implement and improve recycling opportunities that will preserve landfill space now and into the future.
Explore the amazing world of recycling! The Plain Township Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a free Envirokids Camp on Wednesdays, 1:00pm to 2:30pm, July 10, 2013 through July 31, 2013. Click here for an Envirokids registration form.

Recycling Program Continues to Expand
The District is pleased to announce the expansion of its drop-off recycling programs by adding the collection of plastics #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7. This is a wonderful opportunity to recover these items in addition to plastics #1 and #2, paper, cardboard, newspapers, magazines, aluminum and bi-metal food cans and glass beverage containers that you may also recycle at our District recycling drop-offs. Click on your county under the Community Recycling Programs to see a list of District recycling drop-offs and a list of acceptable items.
Yard Waste Composting
The best option for leaves and trees is to compost them. You can take your leaves and other yard waste products to one of our yard waste drop-off sites throughout the District. Learn more about composting at home in your backyard.
