The intent of this grant program is to make sure that there is at least one "model" community within each county with robust and successful recycling and compost programs that can be used as a model for other communities. Grant dollars will be available for a wide variety of program improvements, from equipment to education.

This grant program will only exist for two years in order to reward the "early adopting" communities. Proposals will be developed by communities wishing to receive this grant funding with assistance from District staff. Grant funds under this program will not be available to support ongoing program operational expenses. These grant dollars are to be used to initiate the expansion of programs, make program improvements, increase efficiencies of programs, etc.

For more information on Model Community Grants, contact the District's Grant Administrator Cindi Kerschbaumer at (800) 678-9839 or by e-mail at cindi@timetorecycle.org
